Our group is comprised of a leadership team with vast experience in the professional work environment.
Founder
Karen is the founder of LKN Women Professional Networking, LKW Women Professional Networking and is also a Charlotte native. In addition, she is the business partner and wife of Peter Zomick, A4 Capital Management’s co-founder and CMO.
She graduated from Wingate College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Communications and began her early work experience in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg court system. A few years later she opted to advance her skills by accepting a sales and training position for a national attorney-focused software development company. As she traveled the country working with many prestigious law firms, Karen quickly learned the importance of developing and maintaining strong relationships with her clients. By taking a personal, fun and educational role in her relationships, Karen quickly excelled.
After meeting her future husband Peter and deciding that she had traveled enough, Karen then began a new role as a management recruiter and led her office to many successes. Using her advanced networking skills, Karen was able to help many companies and individuals find one another for a great and profitable working relationship.
Soon after, Karen and Peter married and decided to begin a family together. After taking a few years off for their two amazing daughters, Karen decided to put all of her skills back to work to help women of all ages advance their lives through planning, education and professional business networking. Karen has a unique ability to help people who need one another to find each other.
Karen is an extremely knowledgeable, outgoing and friendly individual with a very creative marketing ability. In her spare time, Karen enjoys painting, gardening, Koi Ponds, spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and when time permits, scuba diving. She's even written a book about beneficial insects and is currently seeking to have it published.
Founder
Laura Shine is a Founder of LKN Women, LKW Women as well as an A4 Capital Management advisor. She relocated from San Diego, California. Laura brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and professionalism to LKN Women and LKW Women. She believes in building trusting relationships within the network as well as in her own financial business. Her success in the demanding San Diego marketplace can be attributed to her unmatched level of service and understanding of both the financial services industry and her clientele.
Laura holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Statistics. Laura loves to spend time with her new puppy, Tucker. She also enjoys all sports, particularly football and hockey, eating at her favorite restaurants, running and spending time with her fiancé, Peter.
